One of the most impressive achievements of the past year was the announcement of 56 grants totaling more than $2 million to establish Centers of Excellence in Huntington’s Disease (HD) care at 67 distinct medical facilities across 36 states and Washington, D.C. These centers will provide a broader base of expert HD care than ever before.
The HDSA is also proud to boast a nationwide network of free, world-class support groups, from Team Hope walks and education days to Celebrations of Hope galas. In addition, HDSA social workers are often the first to know about community resources in their area that can help a family dealing with HD navigate the healthcare system and access needed services.
