O ur oh so ho oh, we’re a family oriented organization with a hearty dose of community mindedness. Our mission is to reimagine the possibilities of family life in Hoboken, NJ. This is accomplished through a philanthropic focus on education and a healthy dose of social inclusion. We are proud to be a partner in many community endeavors ranging from our signature community galas to our flagship programs aimed at enhancing and improving the quality of life of all our members. From our newest member, to the ol’ fashioned volunteer and ad hoc, we welcome all who wish to make a difference in Hoboken and the surrounding tristate area.

HFA is a 100% volunteer-driven organization that has improved the quality of life for families in our community over the past decade. Their programs are designed to foster family connections, improve civic and social spaces, and boost kids’ educational opportunities.

HDSA – The Huntington’s Disease Society of America

In its heyday, HDSA provided world-class support to those affected by the disease – and it still does!
The Society is currently expanding its network of Centers of Excellence with 56 grants totaling more than $2 million.

The Society also has a long list of free events and resources for patients, caregivers and families in your area. You can find out more about these by visiting their website. The most popular program is a monthly newsletter, while others include special needs programs, social events and other fun activities.

The aforementioned triumvirate of HMS faculty members and affiliated clinicians are entrusted with producing clinically relevant, trustworthy and actionable information for a wide range of readers: from consumers to healthcare professionals, from seasoned practitioners to those looking to learn the basics or get their paws in the game.

Hofstra University and Hoboken Family Alliance

Founded in 1935, Hofstra University is a nationally ranked private research university located in Hempstead, Long Island, just 25 miles from New York City. With 22 academic centers and institutes, a business incubator, legal clinics, a museum, and award-winning WRHU college station, Hofstra offers students and surrounding communities a range of scholarship, resources, and engagement opportunities.

A new president and provost have taken the helm, with an eye towards improving academic programs and advancing the University’s scholarly and research enterprise and reputation.

One of the most impressive achievements of the past year was the announcement of 56 grants totaling more than $2 million to establish Centers of Excellence in Huntington’s Disease (HD) care at 67 distinct medical facilities across 36 states and Washington, D.C. These centers will provide a broader base of expert HD care than ever before.

The HDSA is also proud to boast a nationwide network of free, world-class support groups, from Team Hope walks and education days to Celebrations of Hope galas. In addition, HDSA social workers are often the first to know about community resources in their area that can help a family dealing with HD navigate the healthcare system and access needed services.

Hoboken Family Alliance is a 100% volunteer-driven organization dedicated to connecting families and supporting the Hoboken community for over 10 years. HFA’s mission is to spur community spirit and change for the better through educational, parenting, and open space programs, special needs programming and projects, and college scholarships.

Harvard Health Publishing is the consumer health publishing arm of Harvard Medical School, and a leading publisher of clinically-accurate and accessible information about a variety of topics including healthcare, medicine, nutrition, fitness and wellness. Their award-winning website, newsletters and other publications are a valuable resource for patients and consumers, as well as physicians and other health professionals.
